Are you loving effortlessly, tousled, celeb-worthy tresses? If you feel like your straight locks could do with some added oomph and movement, be sure to check out our top tips on how to achieve tousled wave. Simply read on, gals...

How To: Tousled Waves #1

To start your journey to gorgeous tousled waves, you need to give your hair a super nourishing washing and condition session. By selecting the right products you will be able to prep your locks to perfection. So, if you have naturally staight hair be sure to use a body-boosting shampoo and conditioner such as the ah-mazing volumizing Tigi Catwalk Your Highness Elevating Shampoo andNourishing Conditioner. However, if your hair is naturally curly or wavy, your best bet is to use a smoothing shampoo and conditioner (we are major fans of the Tigi S Factor versions).

How To: Tousled Waves #2

Next, you need to choose your styling product (wisely :)). Fine-haired girls will need to amp up the volume of their tresses by applying a plumping product like the Tigi Bed Head Superstar Queen For A Day Thickening Spray. Apply this to damp hair before leaving to hair dry, be sure to ruffle up with your hands, too. Before leaving your hair to air dry, wavy-haired girls should opt for a more moisturising formula that’ll also serve to combat frizzy bits - the Tigi S Factor Smoothing Lusterizer is the perfect product for this.

How To: Tousled Waves #3

For those of us with super straight hair, the best way to achieve the bed head look is to use curling tongs to create those loose gorgeous, tousled waves. Simply wind half-inch sections of hair around the tongs and hold for a short amount of time (not as long as you would if you were aiming for ringlets) before releasing and leaving to cool. Then, separate your waves by running your fingers throughout your locks super gently.

Curly-haired girls can tame their tresses into loose waves with a little help from some heated rollers, such as The O Pod Rollers. Just wind up inch-thick sections of practically-dry hair in the rollers and leave them until they’re completely dry. Once they are dry, remove the rollers to unveil new, relaxed waves. Make sure to smooth the waves out with your fingers to keep them looking effortless and salon worthy, too.

How To: Tousled Waves #4

To finish your tousled locks, fine and straight haired girls should mist their locks with a gentle hold hairspray (we swear by the Tigi Catwalk Session Series Finishing Hairspray) for undeniable hold and movement. For the ultimate tousled look, curly haired girls should apply a small amount of wax (we highly recommend the Tigi Bed Head Wax Stick) only to the ends of their tresses to keep in place and fight the frizz.

And there you have it. Tousled waves are yours for the taking.

Do you love this hairstyle as much as us? : )
