Summer is almost here and we’re more than ready to switch out our nourishing masks for salt spray and texturisers that are way more beach appropriate. Whether you’re hitting the coast or going for a city break instead, these are the biggest hair trends for summer 2018 that you need to copy. Grab your passport girl, lets go...
Slicked Back
This is the perfect style for taming flyaways and keeping control of your hair while sitting poolside. We love this super glossy version at Etro and it’s so easy to recreate. Simply slick your hair back with some gel and use a little hairspray to hold everything in place. Giant earrings are compulsory.
The Loose Perm
The biggest hairstyle of the 80s is back this summer but it’s a little more relaxed and not so poodle. Perms are the easiest way to get loose, beachy style waves as well as adding some extra texture to fine hair types. This isn’t something you can do at home though and it’s best to seek a professional before taking the plunge.
Turbans And Headbands
The 70s inspired looks are sticking around this season and Miu Miu, Gucci and Veronica Beard (above) all created throwback turbans and headbands. These are effortlessly chic and a perfect match for loose waves and undone styles. Just make sure to go for a colour that’s contrasting to your hair for the biggest impact.
The Chin Length Bob
The bob has been getting shorter and shorter but this summer it’s all about the chin length, blunt cut. Everyone from Emilia Clarke to Ashley Graham has rocked this look and it’s best when your hair is super glossy and poker straight. If you have fine hair try picking up a M+B Single Quad Weft and ask your stylist to cut it to the right length to thicken out your bob.
Low Bun or Pony
The ditsy pony is so over this summer and it’s all about low, sophisticated styles instead. We love this look at Chanel as it’s super simple and really easy to recreate (minus the plastic tube obviously!). Pair yours with a centre parting and use some serum for an extra glossy finish to really nail this trend.
Millennial Pink
This is the colour that keeps on giving and it’s still a major trend for the summer. We love this all over shade on the catwalk at Kenzo but if you’re not feeling brave enough you could always go for dip dye or semi permanent colour instead.
