Ever wondered how much it really costs to look like a supermodel? Because same. We want to know whether they have an army of serums or if those genetically blessed people just roll out of bed with perfect tresses. To shed some light on the situation we asked M+B model Mim to spill the products and treatments she uses every month to get photoshoot ready...
❤ TREATMENTS
Full head of highlights - £90
Mim’s hair colour is super important and keeping on top of salon visits is a full time job when someone’s snapping her locks on a daily basis.
“I don’t get my hair highlighted every month obviously, I usually get it done every 12 weeks give or take, and highlights are great because your roots don't look as bad when they grow out as they would with all over dye. I’ve had so many disasters with my colour and instances when I’ve spent money and haven't been happy with it. I’d rather invest a bit more and go to a salon that I know is going to do my hair the way I love it!”
❤ PRODUCTS
Loreal Colorista Silver Shampoo - £6.99
This purple shampoo is amazing for neutralizing brassy tones in blonde hair and a product Mim swears by to prolong the life of her colour.
“This is an essential part of your hair routine when you have ashy, white or cool toned blonde highlights in your hair and this one is the best I’ve tried. I usually use it once a week”
Ogx Thick & Full Biotin and Collagen Shampoo - £6.99
Biotin helps to boost hair growth and make your hair look thicker and healthier, a must for every supermodel...
“I like to change up my shampoo and conditioner a lot but at the moment and I’m loving this one as my hair is fine and it needs all the help it can get! Smells amazing too!”
Aussie Stop The Break 3 Minute Miracle - £4.99
This mask is amazing at protecting your hair against breakage and damage, ideal for anyone who heat styles their hair regularly.
“Like shampoo I’m often changing up my conditioner but at the moment I’m loving this one. The combination of colouring my hair, using silver shampoo and using heat tools can make it look really dry so I find this packs more of a punch than regular conditioner but doesn't weigh down my hair”
Tigi Bed Head Recovery Mask - £7.49
This is a super repairing and moisturising mask that’s great for dry hair in need of some TLC. We’re pretty obsessed with Tigi here at M+B so you know it’s a good shout.
“This is the mother of all hair masks! Smells delicious and works like a dream!”
Bumble & Bumble Thickening Spray - £10
This hairspray is amazing for fine hair that doesn’t hold a style for long, it’ll supercharge your locks and give you Victoria’s Secret volume for days.
“As mentioned before my hair is thin so it really needs help in the thickness department and this stuff does exactly what it says on the bottle. I get the travel size because it lasts such a long time!”
Bumble & Bumble Save The Day Daytime Protective Repair Fluid - £10
This repairing heat protectant is infused with Camelia Oil and UV filters that coat your wet hair and save it from damage.
“I’m really on a mission to protect my hair as much as possible and this stuff is great for protecting the ends. Again I get the travel size as a little goes a long way”
Tresemme Heat Defence Styling Spray- £5.49
“For obvious reasons!” this is a staple of Mim’s photoshoot kit and perfect for topping up on heat protection in between looks.
