Today we’re going to be letting you in on how to wake up with perfect hair. Albeit there will be a little ruffling and touching up here and there, but generally you’ll be pretty much ready to go hair-wise when you wake up...
So, what’s the secret we hear you ask? The main secret - it’s all in the preparation, girls! But first, you need to decide what kind of hairstyle that you want to wake up with. Do you want to wake up with kink-like, undone, mermaid waves? Or even more undone Kate Moss inspired tresses? or a second day blow dry? Whatever you choose, we’re going to show you the easiest way to achieve each hairstyle below.
For undone, kink-like mermaid waves the secret is making sure that your hair is completely dry before you begin any styling whatsoever. Once your hair is dry, braid your hair into a 3 strand braid before you jump into bed, sleep and give yourself 10 minutes to complete the look in the morning. When the morning arises, gently undo the braid and separate the waves. You can use a texturising balm to help separate the hair and create a crimped, wave after waves effect. If there are any flat and/or limp areas don’t panic - these can be quickly fixed with a curling tong. To complete the look, add a lift to your roots with the help of some dry shampoo and there you have it. Undone, mermaid-like waves in a matter of minutes.
Now if you love the Kate Moss at the weekend, just rolled out of bed hair then this hairstyle is for you. All you need to do is blast your freshly washed hair until it is ninety per cent dry, then go to bed and don’t worry about laying still all night. Your hair is allowed to move freely so rolling over will help the undone, effortless waves. Do bear in mind that this kind of hairstyle can get pretty wild depending on your hair texture. We find that this hairstyle works best on naturally straight and or thin/fine hair. Finish off the look with a texturising salt spray (our fave is A Beautiful Life Pre Game Texturising Spray, FYI) and ruffle up your hair using your fingers. Ta-daaah you’ve got the ultimate effortless hairstyle without having to preen it for hours.
It’s no secret that we all love that just stepped out of the salon blow-dry look with mounds of volume at the root, bouncy tresses with a healthy sheen. But, the second day blow dry look is just as good as the first day when do right. If you don’t have time to go to the salon for a blow dry then simply add some heated rollers into your locks at home. Leave to set and apply lots of hairspray to help it hold. Go to bed looking a little Dolly Parton-esque but don’t worry, your hair will have dropped and softened by the time you wake up. This semi-polished done, but not done hairstyle is super hard to achieve when styling from scratch so this method suits us just fine. We’re all for easy hairstyles, especially in the morning - right?
